Younts Peak

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]

The highest thing in the Teton Wilderness, and, if it weren't for nearby Wall Mountain, probably the most stunning thing there as well. The route up involves a traverse across the enormous snowfield in the lower left, but hikers have worn a decent trail to the summit after that. 12 August 2009

I'm jealous you were here! This peak is a dream of mine since it's by some accounts the most remote peak in the Lower 48 and in my favorite range to boot!

	Hasn't voted	Thanks! You were right about the area -- once you get past the pack trains, this is one lonesome place. Strangely, though, we ran into a couple other guys (and two grizzlies) on the summit. They seemed just as surprised as we were to find anyone out there! If I get the chance, I'll put up a page on this peak; it's a great one.
