Surgent's Route
With Michael Berry. The drive up the road took much longer than we thought as it was quite rough. The hike itself was a little bit tougher than we expected but views from the top were outstanding. On the way back we met the owners of the corral and they were actually very friendly and we chatted for a while. They told us that the land east of the fence line at Bobs Flat is actually private but didn't seem to worry too much.

Warm day
Dennis and I car camped near the corral in Bob's basin. There was no one around and so we had the whole area to ourselves. Insteading of going up the face as Scott Surgent mentioned, we hiked up the road to Big Spring and followed the wash up. This adds a couple of miles but is well worth it as the wash is a great way to access the upper mountain. We found cairns and trail remnants further up which really helped. Great views. Found a central benchmark and a witness marker as well as a register in an ammo can. Thanks to Scott Surgent for suggesting the drainage (wash) as it worked great for us.

Bryce is nice
Went with Scott Peavy. We ascended directly up the ridge at the area with the fewest and smallest cliff bands, and found it very passable. We had a clear day, with views extending to the Four Peaks, Baldy, and probably NM--with snow-covered Graham looming immediately to the south. Bryce itself had a few small patches of snow on its uppermost reaches.
A few presumed ranchers saw us driving in and out, and even crawling under the gate to their property, but seemed unconcerned. Please continue to respect the land if you visit, so this good access may continue in the future.

Western Ridge
With Scott Casterlin. We followed the westerly ridges (not the one mentioned on the SP page) and avoided cliffs entirely. Typical high-desert peak with plenty of grasses and cactus, and rubbly loose rock, but enjoyable and very pretty. Trip report: Bryce Mountain 11/22/08
