Guadalupe Peak
My wife and I hiked to the top. The weather was nice and sunny with very little wind. It was about 40 degrees. The trail was in great shape, nice and wide. The views up top were great. This is a spectacular National Park.

Bagged
Did this hike when the government was shut down last year. Almost was better! Was cold and windy and me and my buddy were the only people on the mountain. Pretty easy accent.

Top of Texas
Great, semi strenuous hike up the mountain from the Pine Springs campground. Stayed in pine springs the night before and the night after and got a fairly early start (07:00). The first 1.5 miles really is the worst bit and it feels much longer than that, but then you turn the corner and enter the pine forest and it is a very pleasant hike the rest of the way. Great views and a great feeling at the top. Spent about 1.5 hours at the top and was back at camp at about 14:00 so around 7 hours all told.

Early morning hike
Left at 5am to beat the heat. Up in a bit over 2 hours. Trail is pretty straight forward. Awesome views from the top. The hike down was super difficult on my knees. Bring trekking poles and plenty of water.
Forgot my running shoes. So I hiked/ran this gem in steel-toed boots. Ugh....
I got involved in a SAR call looking for a missing hiker since I was the last one up there.
Good thing, because I saw him & knew where he was. The two Park staff and myself found & attended to him.
Finally got down around 1:00am.

5 Peak Loop
Big 5 peak loop in the Guadalupe Mountains 17 miles and 6400’ gain through interesting terrain. Trip Report
We could not have picked a better place to start this Highpoint journey. The views at the top make it worth coming back again.

Two Day Trek in my home state
A two day driving marathon began near Dallas. Drove to Guadalupe Mountains in just under 8 hours and set up camp. Hit the trail head the next day at 5 am with headlamps which made for an amazing vantage for viewing the desert sunrise. We stopped a lot to relax and hang out so it took 9 hours round trip. Once down we hit the road and were back home a little after midnight. I must go back for McKitrick Canyon Trail. Carlsbad Caverns and the Dunes!!

Breezy
The wind was no joke, but mostly only felt at the top. The national park's website says 6-8 hours, but you can do it in 4. Great hike!

HP #17!
Desert-type hike; looking down on El Capitan and across all the Texas flatlands at the summit was pretty neat.

Why did I wait so long?
Lived in Texas for most of my 50+ years, but waited until last weekend to make the climb. Weather was great, climb was challenging. 5th high point climbed, and the best to date.

Beautiful Day
Cloudy, windy and cold but when we got to the top it cleared off. Sky opened up once we were on the summit. Great Views. Hoar frost on all of the trees, brushes.

The key is an early start
After my sister flew back to Oaklnd on Tuesday night, I headed down south to El Paso, picked up supplies, and headed east to Guadalupe. I camped at Pine Springs and set out about 7:15 the next morning and was second to the top from the trailhead. Total my round trip time was about four and a half hours roundtrip with about half an hur at the top. Saw a cool tree climbing whipsnake on the way down. Ths is a cool peak and the ranger at the visitor's center was also cool as hell.
