From the gate
With Dad, below. Didn't like the loose talus on the east side, nearly took my leg off. Dad left me while he went over to tag Pickett. Isn't child abandonment a crime?

From the gate
A nice hike of about 4 1/2 miles with close to 2000 feet of elevation gain. We went up the north side and left via the east.
No register found but did note a couple of witness benchmarks. The main benchmark was not present. ??? Nice viewpoint. My hiking companion was Dennis Poulin. After this one, we headed over to do Round Top.

Father & Son
Climbed the peak via the dirt road access. Parked the car on Burnside Lake Road (FS19) and hiked from there with my ten year old son. Enjoyed the upper scramble. Summit register was soaked. Next person going up needs to add more paper.

Amazing Views
Bypassed the locked gate and 4-wheeled to within about 3/4 of a mile from the top. Hiked the last 3/4 mile and ~700 feet to some of the best views in the Tahoe Basin. Everything from Sonora Pass, Ebetts Pass, Carson Pass, Echo Pass and Freel/Jobs Sister/Jobs were viewable. Will post a panoramic once I download my pics. This was the first of three 10ers on the day, way better than being at work on a Friday!

Route Climbed: The dirt road Date Climbed: Nov 21, 2005
Followed Pete Yamagata's route to the Base of the peak and then went up just left of the Solar panels. Great view and the peak looks a little like Devil's Tower from the base of the road.
Route Climbed: From Hope Valley Date Climbed: 26 March 2005
I have been looking at this peak since I climbed Round Top in the Summer so it felt good to make it to the summit. Me and my friend Ted made the climb and it was a good work out to the summit.
