Drove up the dirt road to within a few hundred yards or so of the true summit. The road is wide, smooth, in excellent condition, and can be driven by the typical sedan. I scrambled up the rocks just left of the ladder to reach the top (hard class 2 / very easy class 3) and used the ladder to get down.

Lewis
Quick and easy. Long drive in. Not really a scramble due to the ladders.

37 peaks in 19 days
There was bad weather for weeks in WA so Heather and I drove through OR, CA, NV, UT, and ID. We climbed 37 peaks in 19 days and Lewis was our only drive up. It was our 8th day of the trip. trip report

Mount Lewis
Near drive up. Hiked the last little bit and climbed the ladder to the top. Did Elko Mountain earlier in the day. Combined hiking between the two, maybe 1/4 mile. Did these two peaks on my drive out to do Granite Peak; Humboldt County HP and top 100 prominence peak in the lower 48.

nice drive up
Figured I might as well drive up since it's relatively close. Could only get the faint static of an AM country station on the radio.

Fantastic viewpoint
On a hot day, it was in the 90's even near the summit which is close to 10K. I had done Elliot BM earlier and this was the 2nd one of the day. A flat near the summit made it bit more work than I had planned for thanks to the heat. That was the first flat in almost 100K miles so it was bit of a surprise to get one.

Mount Lewis DriveupAre ladders considered "aid climbing"?
