Goat friends at the top
Got a somewhat late start ~10am. We were on the top at lunch. So many goats. It was crazy

Hot Day!
Starting from the lower trailhead on a scorcher day made it a bit difficult. Apparently missed the goats on top (they probably left to look for shade) by sheer minutes and had solitude for 90% of the day. Did I mention it was hot?

Short, steep, and sweet
Started at the upper trailhead and made quick way up this short, steep route. Great, tough little hike, and one that I hope to do again. The clouds moved in during the hike, so the views were pretty much nonexistent sadly. Hoping the weather cooperates a little better next time.

Hiked in 2009
Hiked to the summit via the upper trailhead on a cool, wet day in September, 2009. The Olympic Mountains are gorgeous and I hope to go back someday.

Views galore
A very cool, steep, but short climb this is. Lots of snow from the previous storm, but a clear blue sky on this day. Once above tree line you begin getting rewarded with great views. Want to come back and climb the chute with a bit more snow. One of my favorite locals for sure.

Easy but nice climb
Took the chute; quick summit, but a very nice view of the Olympics

Goats!
This mountain has an excellent "effort-to-reward" ratio in terms of experience and scenery. Loved it. Watch out for all of the mountain goats!
Hadn't really planed on doing it until the next day but at the last minute headed up, started at the lower TH at 4:33 pm, reached the top in 1 1/2 hours and down in about 1 hr. Didn't see any goats.

Great Climb
Climbed from the lower trail head to get the added elevation gain. Summited via the summer route, although we deviated and went straight up the shoot instead of taking the switch backs. Lots of goats on top. Great trip.

Poor weather, perfect snow!
Road is still impassable about a mile below the trailhead. Headed up into some light snow, but kept going in hopes the clouds would burn off. Unfortunately, they did not but the snow was terrific for kickstepping up the Chute. Was able to enjoy some views from the top. Traversed the ridge between Ellinor and Washington but stopped when I felt it was unsafe since I was solo. Yet another great climb of Ellinor!

Always a nice, close climb
Ive climbed her many many times, its always fun. I use the winter route year around to avoid the crowds and make it more of a scramble. When the chutes full of snow I always bring my board, summit to bottom of chute in like 2 minutes :P Theres lots of trad climbing and class 4 scrambles available up here as well.

Goats & Lightning.
Guy I was with fed a goat some cheddar cheese - then wondered why it tried to take his whole lunch. Clouds rolled in. Figured it was time to leave the summit when my forehead felt like there were ants running around on it! :)

Cool summit
Opted for the chute route even though it was snow free. Lots of loose rock.
