I fell in love with this area. The hike through the waterfalls to the alpine scene above was awesome. Spent a lot of time on low angled snow slopes to get to the ridge. Fun hike, unique area!
Route Climbed: Timponookee Date Climbed: Aug 1978 and 2000
Did it as an 8 yr old with my brother. Scared the crap out of me the first time! Reached it again as a warm-up for Kings. One of the greatest hikes in Utah, and I'll never get tired of it. If you like big mountains, this one's yours! Ran into a llama on the trail, left by someone. He wasn't a very nice one either!
Route Climbed: Aspen Grove Date Climbed: August 3, 2002
Weather was good, mostly sunny, though it was windy and cold at the summit. Lots of hikers on the trail, pretty typical for a summer afternoon. Great views from the summit.

Timp
I've been all over this mountain many, many times as it's the best peak in the Rockies.
The first time I climbed the peak was on July 4 1981, just after turning seven years old. Last time I climbed the peak was on August 30 1998.
Some other ascents (there are more than the ones below):
July 1984
July 1987
July 4 1992
September 1993
August 1994
September 29 1996
Route Climbed: Timpanooke Trail Date Climbed: 1995
My cousin Dane Sorensen and I set out to climb to the peak as quickly as possible the summer after I graduated from highschool, and if I remember right we made it in 3.5 hours or so... I doubt if I could do it that quickly again, but it was amazing, the mountain goats were friendly, and I scratched my girlfriends name in the summit "hut"... It's time to go back and make sure it gets scratched out, if it is still there!!! I've never seen more beautiful valleys with such amazing flowers in my life! According to my cousin, they were in the middle of a serious droubt... could've fooled me! There was also remnants of an avalanche, and a little "ice cave" underneath the snow and Ice with a stream running out of it. Utah is trully a beautiful place.
Route Climbed: Timpanooke route Date Climbed: July 2000
My son-in-law and I made this an overnighter, camping out at the 10000 foot mark and then getting up early to finish the hike/climb. We finished the next day, facing into a stiff westerly wind. The wind died as we got to the metal hut that is on top of the peak and couldn't find the register that was supposed to be there. The view was outstanding in all directions, especially the one that is straight down its east face (1500 feet).
(I had been up it before as a day hike via the Aspen Grove trail but the overnighter was special)
