"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Pleasant RidgeThree times so far. Once from the nearest trailhead on Skyline Drive (continuing west cross-country to Three Sisters), once from Elk Wallow (as a loop including Knob Mountain), and once as a 100% bushwhack from VA 654 that included Kibler Knob and all of the Three Sisters.

From the valley floorMy last mountain of 2011. I hiked it from the valley floor outside the park. It was a good hike. On the way back, the crossing of Jeremy's Run turned out to be pretty difficult, and my feet were soaked. Same thing happened to the other hikers I talked to, so it wasn't just my klutziness.

From bottomDone it a couple of times from the bottom by starting outside the park and going up the Jeremy's Run Trail. There used to be a fire foot trail that came into the AT a bit north of where the Neighbor Mountain Trail hits it that would take you back down to the Jeremy's Run Trail; you can still bushwhack it.
