Followed headquarters pass trail to the pass itself. I continued on down the trail slightly until I started up the couloir before the west slope. I scrambled up the scree, and continued to scramble up the face itself guided intermittently by cairns. I kinda did a J hook style sidehill until I came up from the back, or the south slope. Signed the logbook at the end!

Harder than expected scramble
Took the West ridge route, made scrambling harder than it needed to be on loose scree and talus. Route down was better, managed to stick to more solid rock bands. Hot day.

Awesome peak
Went up the West face from Headquarter pass and down the East ridge. Couldn't have asked for better weather.

Perfect
Sunny, not too hot, no bugs, no wind, no crowds, brand new perspective on one of my favorite places. Couldn't ask for a more enjoyable hike. We walked up and over Headquarters Pass a little ways to give a family of goats some space, then scrambled up to the ridge, summited, and descended the E Ridge/N Slopes.

4th of July Peak
We left in the evening after work on 4th of July on the west face. Along the edge of a scree corridor, then route-finding among the rock channels higher up. Impressive view from the top. Down the east saddle, then scree-skied down, cut across and back up to the trail and looped back to camp moments before dark. Cold bratwurst and mashed potatoes awaited.

Third Trip
Third time to the top for me. Great views even with haze from fires. Great views of Glacier Park far to the north.

First time!
Still a lot of snow fields that we had to cross. We rock climbed up the ridge, rather than hiking more around the "back" and avoiding the spine of the mountain. Awesome hike/climb! Not for novices if you want to do any climbing, but the hike in was gorgeous too!

West Flank
Went up the West Flank and down the East Ridge, an awesome outing. Very clear views of Glacier, and a great deal of snow seemed to remain in the Swan Range.

West face from Headquarters Creek Pass
First time to the Rocky Mountain Front - why did I wait so long? Quite an awesome area!! Took the trail over the pass and then headed up to the west saddle. The main couloir up the center of the face looked nasty so I found a better route a bit south of there. Great summit views!! Then down the east ridge and up to the unnamed east peak. Then down to the trail again just above the waterfall and out. Pretty fun loop!! Lots of wildlife around here!!

the end of a fantastic trip
Climbed from base camp at around 6,400 feet in the Headquarters Creek drainage just off the main trail. This was our campsite on night four of a fifty mile, five day loop up to the North Wall on the Continental Divide. The west ridge provded to be rather tiring with all my backpacking gear, but the summit views made it all the worthwhile! Amazed by how much I could see, including some prominent peaks in Glacier National Park. Highly recommend the east ridge for descent - I ran down 1,300 feet of scree in about 17 minutes. Incredible mountain.

Fun hike & scramble.
Hiked the western flank with my dog and descended via east ridge. Amazing views even though the previous days had been smoky. Saw two black bears on two separate occasions. 4 mountain goats too. Makes me want to explore deeper into The Bob. Saw 4 or 5 parties of people. No one climbing though.
Great climb! A lot of exposure via the northwest ridge route but very worth it! Stick to the top of the ridge instead of going beneath it. If you do happen to find yourself to far below, prepare for some class 4 climbing.

Appreciated More the Second Time
Climbed Rocky a few years ago, and returned this time with some friends. Summit views are much more spectacular than I recalled. Went up from the west saddle, came down the east ridge. Fantastic peak, and the views of Old Baldy are amazing.
