jeep convention?
I climbed this peak with Randy, Sharon and Cheryl of the "usual suspects." Janey and Barb climbed with us as far as Wheeler Lake. We had intended to try for two or three summits today, but the length of the Traver climb alone interfered with those thoughts.
The 4WD road to Wheeler Lake still had a lot of distracting mud puddles that required detours. The upper basin above the lake was still lush and full of flowers, and the route to the summit went over lots of rocky rubble. Great views from the summit, of course.
Coming down we encountered at least 15-20 jeeps gathered at Wheeler Lake, and at least another 20 or so jeeps on the road down to the trailhead at the reservoir. This was the only negative to this route.
Another great day in the Colorado mountains!

'Clipper' + Wheeler & North Star
Started out originally as just the Clinton-Traver duo but we added Wheeler and North Star on as well. The ridge from Wheeler to North Star was SPICY!!!! Some solid class-4 stuff and 5th class if you wanted it. Luckily the weather was perfect.
Hiked/scrambled with Stephanie Lynn.
Wheeler Lake is beautiful.
