An all time fav!!!Haven't climbed in ages but this is one of my all time favorites!!! Even tho its such a classic never a wait or crowd. I guess the approach is too far for most used to the typical JT climb ;)

Re: Sister SledgeHa! I sure wish I had been climbing for the past 4 years...in actuality, I took almost 2 years off. I'm only just now getting back to climbing on a regular basis.

Lead HeadI hear you...still getting mine back after taking a 40 footer on slabby rock last summer. Yoga helps!

Re: Lead Head40 feet? Ouch! Today I followed up something I had lead a few years ago that had some very scary runout and I thought...how did I ever lead this?! So yoga can help?

Re: Lead HeadYep, yoga helps calm the mind and work through fears and barriers. The 40 footer was on a route called White Whale out on Lumpy Ridge. I got off route on to rock that was rated 5.9+ R/X...a guy actually died on it years ago. I was even told by a guide friend of mine that he knew a 5.12 climber that was on it and felt uneasy.
You can sew Mental Physics up though...I've wanted to do that one for a couple of years now!

Re: Lead HeadHmm, I can see how that would really mess with your head, but I'm glad to hear that it didn't turn out worse. And it sounds like you should come to Joshua Tree and get on Mental Physics. I just got through with a stellar day of climbing in perfect weather...a great way to spend my birthday!
