was it...

difficult for Andy to stay in that position, since the image is clearly rotated 90 degrees clockwise? ;-))

Fine shot!

Re: was it...

I cannot vouch for the camera being perfectly horizontal, given that I was rather precariously perched on a rock to get a good angle for this shot, but it is definitely not rotated by 90°.

Re: was it...

Agreed, not rotated. If you want you could leave the rope in the anchor rings after the rappel and use it as a top rope to climb this 5.10+ Friday's Folly route.

Re: was it...

Is Friday's Folly really 5.10+? Both Rossiter and climbingboulder.com rate it 5.7. There was a party climbing it when we came down, and my impression was that it would be a rather stiff 5.7, but from 5.7 to 5.10+ is quite a gap.

Re: was it...

Sorry, but I thought it was obvious that mine was only a joke! However in this way I could learn from you some technical term, unknown to a simple hiker as I am...

Cheers!

Re: was it...

I think you mean Saturday's Folly (5.8-5.9), which directly follows the rap route. Friday's Folly (definitely no more than 5.7) isn't easily toproped from the bottom due to its length and wandering nature.
