Congratulations Eric! Even with lack of sleep and knee pain you made really great time.

Also, great trip report - thanks for sharing your adventure. I was wondering how it worked out.

Nice job Eric, you make lab nerds look good! The people that camped in Round Valley, did they carry gear planning on that, or did they bivy?

Nice job Eric! 12,000ft of gain is quite a bit more than the standard workout in the mountains. :-)

First-timer finisher

Thank you for your description, it was a great help calculating the laps requirements on my first-time attempt in '07. I was stocked to complete it and wrote a much detailed blog ( http://ratheroutthanin.blogspot.com/ ) to help other first-timers to be successful too. Thanks again.

Re: First-timer finisher

Awesome job, congrats on your finish last year. What date is the race this year? I'm actually coming out to Socal to run the Angeles Crest 100 on Sept 13th. Good luck with this year's race, let me know if you have any questions about ultrarunning, I'm now fully engulfed and have completed 10 races and counting.
