8,220-ft Dot Mountain as seen...
8,220-ft Dot Mountain as seen from the south slopes of Ptarmigan Peak on August 23, 2001. The beige-orange streaks are pink porphyry granite intrusions eroding away. These numerous intrusions gave the area color and character. Incidently, that's not haze in the photograph but an approaching snowshower.
