Good grief

where did all the snow go? Contrast this pic with mine of July 4th. It must be a scree slog most of the way at this time of year.

Yeah, the snow coverage this year melted really quickly. The ribbon of snow that is to the right of The Heart that most people hike up during the climbing season fully meleted away about four weeks ago. Usually that ribbon of snow is there until late September. The lower half of the Ava. Gulch was bare by mid-July.
