A Clump of Yellow Marsh Marigolds

A Clump of Yellow Marsh Marigolds

Yellow Marsh Marigolds (Caltha palustris) are also known as Kingcups and belong to the Ranunculaceae Family. They can be found in all mountains of Central Europe. They like wet woods, damp meadows and grow near streams and creeks. They are perennials that look like very small bushes with either rounded or kidney-shaped leaves. Vibrant yellow flowers appear from March to May. All raw parts of Caltha palustris are poisonous. The Low Beskid - The shore of Black Creek - April 2008.
