I ought to comment my own picture regarding the definition of "alpine plant". These two trees grow exactly at the border of coniferous forest and shrub-alpine meadow vegetation. Their upper parts are heavily destroyed and very probably they are in fluctuating between-zone. I accept this photo as proper one in the album.
