A Dream Comes True

A Dream Comes True

Photo by: Some Tourist Rick Faulkner,(aka Itrad), and I on our way to do what we came out here to do. Rick had climbed here a few years ago with Frank Sanders summitting three times in one day! I felt I was in pretty good hands. I was. He allowed me to top out and have the summit to myself for a few minutes. Most of which I spent crying. It had been a dream of mine to see what was up on "That Thing" after I saw Close Encounters of the Third Kind way back in 1977. To finally get to see that the summit looks like a...... Well, I guess you will have to climb it for yourself and see! I wouldn't want to ruin it for you! Do you see the climbers? September, 2003

Re: I am not...

Climbing with all of the extra gear is a lot of work but most of the time I come home with at least a few good photos. There was no way I was going to climb this and not have photo equipment. I had wanted to climb this most of my life and it was worth every second. Rock climbing is a great way to stay fit and it gives me many good photographs. When someone is hanging hundreds of feet off the ground and just about to fall, the eyes tell stories words just can't! If you would ever want to learn to rock climb, I work at a very good guide service that can teach you. You should plan a trip to Kentucky sometime. I would happy to show you the ropes!
