This is awesome!I love this photo. The rock is so stark against the sky, and I really like the contrast of the soft leaves against the sky. Very nice

Sarah,You are much too modest! But, I know what you mean when you photograph red rocks with blue skies. It always makes for an excellent foto!!

Even though it's been a couple of months, I can still close my eyes and "go back" to Canyon de Chelly. I can hear her nephew playing the drum and singing prayerful (and some funny, not-so-prayerful, family-variety-naughty) songs with the wind blowing outside the hoogan. What a time that was.

It's such a beautiful place...my memories of this canyon will last a lifetime, I'm happy I could share the pictures with the SP community!

Ha, I annoy the heck out of my climbing partners b/c I love to take so many photos.
I section-hike the AT, so I'm in the eastern mountains typically once per year, hence all the eastern peaks in my profile.
The Black Forest Fire burned to the ground the house 2=doors down and across the street. I visited with them yesterday...very somber mood, very sobering sights. It still smells like smoke. I had burn clear up to my mailbox, but my property is unscathed. I feel very fortunate. Thanks for checking on me!

Re: The Black ForestOh my Sarah. Somber's the word alright. How lucky you are to still have your home! And right up to your mailbox it came! Where were you when the fire blew through? Any photos? I saw a couple of unbelievable images on the news.
