Fortunately, this is not the route we have to take. Who knows when these large seracs start tumbling down!

Yeah, they are! Somehow the snow in the Andes must be different from that in the Alps, because something this big wouldn't stay up there all that long. I presume the low temperatures in the Andes have something to do with it.

At some point, they do come down though. That 'small' avalanche is proof of that, even if it's just a chip off from one of them. First I heard a noise, but it took a while to spot it. Still, it's big enough to kill you if you happen to be climbing there. Imagine the sight of a big one breaking off ...

Yes, I agree, it is. Usually I reduce images in size before posting, but sometimes a really big one is useful. Glad you like it.
