You can see................the 'hockey stick gully'near the top of the south face of K2, climbed by Kukuczka an Piotrowski during the fateful summer of 1986, from this vantage point. Piotrowski lost his crampons on a steep section (Bottleneck or Black Pyramid) of the Abruzzi Spur whilst descending, and he fell to his death.
