A window seat to the High Sierra

A window seat to the High Sierra

First time

I see this window with Williamson in it. Looks like an afternoon sun.
Great photo. A winner in my book.

Re: First time

Thanks Marc. I stumbled onto this window in the same area as the well known arch around sunset.

Re: First time

My mistake. I thought this was the famous one. Now that I think of it, the other one is eliptical.
Great find.

Re: nice eye

Thanks Aranka! I was tooling around among the rocks and stumbled apon this unique vantage point. That's Mt. Williamson, 13,475' in the pic, the largest mtn. in the Sierra with a 10,000' relief from Owens Valley.
Have a great Holiday! From the looks of your new profile shot you already are!

Re: clever composition!

Thanks. The Alabama Hills always offer photo surprises if you ramble around a bit.

You have some of the best Tahoe shots I've seen!

Re: amazing use of a natural resource

Thanks Harry! There are several natural rock windows in this interesting area full of all manner of outcrops and boulders.
