I like the contrast of the colorful boots and ropes against the gray rock and snow.
Good shot! It´s on my "to do" list and in winter does look a lot of fun!
Charles, it is definitely a worthwhile climb. Challenging, but not too strenuous. Highly recommendet!
that this looks awesome! Love all of the colorful gear against the grey rock, snow, and sky! Good job, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the nice comments. I actually only took this picture because I was bored while waiting for Duane to get up there. But I guess that's how the good shots happen.
Nice action shot. Keep up the good work and great climbing.
I am really happy you all like this picture. I never thought it would score so high and get enough votes to make it as picture of the day, especially with all the other stunning pictures submitted every day. I feel honoured.
Now that's what I call a great photo! So appropriate for SP. Captures the moment really well. Do you have enough photos to post a "Winter" Album for the Jubiläumsgrat Marcus? Would allow me to drool over a route that will always be above my own very modest capabilities, in an area of Germany that I absolutely adore.
Bryan, thanks for the compliments. I do actually have a selection of photos from an unsuccessful attempt in February 2005 online here, and some from the successful climb last weekend here. They all have German captions and descriptions, though, so yes, I will post an album on SP (and collect all the great photos by other SPers in there, too). Good idea.
Update: The album is here. Enjoy.
Very good pic, I like the Jubigrat and will climb it again this January.
This shot is making me wait my turn!
Photo of the Week is usually filled with breathtakingly beautiful scenic pictures. They are so gorgeous; it's almost hard to believe. To me, people make pictures beautiful. Especially action shots. I love yours. Thanks for posting.
