Afon Colwyn

Afon Colwyn

Afon Colwyn has its source in Cwm Caergog on Snowdons west side. It flows southwards, seperating Snowdon from Moel Hebog and the Eifionydd joining the Afon Glaslyn in Beddgelert (June 2007).

Enchanting Grove

A great, a bit Mediterranean look. Oaks?

Re: Enchanting Grove

It only looks Mediterranean on a nice day, this is one of very few! And correct they are sessile oak. This river runs just along side a nice little campsite, a very nice place to stay for a summers eve.

Afon

So the Avon running near Stonehenge must be the English spelling for a Celtic name then. Just got enlightened! Better late than never:)

Re: Afon

That's right, there are actually quite a few rivers in England called Avon, they're probably very old names, maybe even pre-dating the Roman period.
