Climbed via the Frendo spur, after years of looking at it longingly. Definitely worth the wait.
Fantastic route, dry conditions. With Tariq Qureshi
refering to the cosmique arette
paid the extra 3 euros to take the elevator up to the true summit. With a week of crappy weather preventing us from attemping any of the peaks we wanted to do (Dufour and Blanc), it was nice to still be able to get really high up. -6 C up at the top, overcast but great views.
of the Cosmique arete. I was not too well after an awful night in the Cosmique Hut ..nausea/vomiting/headache/mild AMS..in the mornining i started but backed off the Cosmique Arete very early leaving my climbing partners to complete the climb. I ascendedthe ridge back to the station.
I don't know if it counts but i reached the summit by cablecar in '89 when i was 5 years old--> my first summit :-) well it probably started my addiction for mountains, should come back one day and climb it
First time it was the easy way (tram), next time I will chose a different one.
I want to go back and climb it. Pics
It was a cool vista, even if we cheated. Next up, Mt Blanc.
Wish I brought my climbing gear to Europe!
I climbed it via the Arête des Cosmiques route. Beautiful weather and fantastic route!
I feel bad for signing this log since I took the tram to the top, but I have been to the top, and intend on returning there someday to summit Mont Blanc. So I'll update then.
Climbed in very snowy conditions for June! Very nice!
A little late in posting, but what a great climb and spectacular area.
My first climb in the Alps. Great introduction! Climbed with Miles Smart.
Magnificient day and unbeliveable views.
My first time in French Alps and I can only say.... Wooow!
Have to comeback one day and do some real hiking in this area!
Second time to the top.
Gabi, Sev, Nicolas and I came from Zermatt to Chamonix, we picked the telecabine to A. du Midi. We did the climb of the ridge in the early afternoon, with sun and excellent conditions; just in time to pick the last cabine to Torino Hut. A great climb.
The tram ride up was a little uncomfortable...they packed about 50 people inside it
