Aiguilles de l'Argentiere

Aiguilles de L'Argentiere (2906m, East Face) as seen from Le Marqies (just SE of St Francois Longchamps). It was about 5pm when the sun created this light on the sharp Argentiere peaks. January 29th, 2010, Savoie, French Alps --CLICK TO SEE ORIGINAL SIZE--

Re: An impressive

Thanks Koen! I was lucky with the weather. It was completely clouded all day, but before sunset the sun came trough the clouds creating this view!

Re: An impressive

I changed the coordinates to the exact place the mountain is located.
To see where i took the picture follow this link:

On the right side of this map you see ''TSD Marquis'' From here I took the photo towards the west with a 12x zoom. The location is just south-east of St Francois Longchamp 1650

The White Tower

In the movie "The White Tower" (James Ramsey Ullman), this mountain was used as the peak that Glenn Ford, Vali, and Lloyd Bridges sought to climb in the 1950s.

Re: The White Tower

wow ,that's interesting. But are you sure you don't mean the Aiguille d'Argentiere located in the Mont Blanc group, which is far better known and almost 1000m higher?

Thanks for the info and for passing by though.
