We were very happy with the conditions on this ridge. On the eastern side (the sunny one), the drop off is more than 2000 meters, and if you fall, it's too steep to have anything but a remote chance to self arrest. On the western side it's only marginally better, but if you don't stop a fall yourself immediately, you still have another chance a couple hundred meters lower down, when it gets a bit less steep - provided you don't hit a rock or fall into a crevasse first. Better not to fall then... 7 July 2013.

Wide enough, in my opion in 2006 it was a bit more narrow, or was it the tention?

Well, as you can see, at this part of the saddle the trail is just below the ridge proper, on the western side, safely away from the cornices and the much more hazardous eastern side. But the cornices weren't too bad and the trail was fine.
Obviously, I don't know what it was like in 2006, but I can imagine that if the trail follows the ridge itself it will be a much more hair raising experience.
