Introduction

The Hunza valley is one of the most beautiful spots in Northern Pakistan. It is located to the west side of the Hunza river with the east side constituting Nagir. Hunza is historically Ismaili whereas Nagir is Shia. Hunza's capital is the small hoptill town of Karimabad, popular with tourists because of the amazing views across the valley below and up to the peaks above Ultar. The region is easy to visit since the Karakoram highway passes right through it.
