Good for acclimatisation - climbed late and bivi'd at the feekopf. Great to be back in the Alps
My wife and I climbed this while vacationing in Saas Fee. This was her first glacier climb and first 4000m peak and she did great. We had glorious weather all day long and both felt in good shape for the climb. This is a really popular mountain and we ran into all sorts of people on the ascent. It is still a sweet climb though, the summit is quite precarious for such a broad mountain and the views of the Pennine Alps are might fine.
Clear day but windy. Easy snow hike. Crowded.
Due to bad weather we changed our plans to climb Weißmies and ran up Allalinhorn on the normal route by foot (because my partner had not been into ski-mountaineering).
Fast one-day 4000m ascent even it took some energy to "walk" through deep snow by foot in the winter.
Perfect weather, nice views!
Again here. It is a nice way to acclimatise before heading to Strahlhorn. Started from the Britannia Hütte early in the morning. This time the weather was great.
Strolled up with my brother James from Alpinmetro to acclimatise. Cloudy on top, but still hot in sunshine and lots of snow around.
Hohlaubgrat was very nice and easy, just before the summit a bit of easy mixed climbing. Decended via the normal route onto the biggest summer ski aera of Switserland, what a waste!
On top of my first 4000m peak. Exhausting - but great!
After one try on the Hohlaubgrat and 3 plans of climbing the route we did the north face. An easy, but beautiful climb. Not very difficult. The weather turned from beautifull to cloudy.
My first 4000m! Good one to start with, easy access and fantastic views. Drove from Chamonix, France early in the morning and was back down for lunch.
Started from Mittelallalin at a day with perfect weather! What a great view to Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, Weissmies group and Bernese Alps! First 4000 m peak for my wife!
Short, easy, all right... but a four-thousander nevertheless. Your lungs say so when you are up there. Ideal for newcomers to high altitude. I enjoyed it, that's for sure. We came up via Mittelallalin and Feejoch.
Beatifull place with interesting views. A short but satisfastory climb from the mittelallalin. Some easy crevasses in the glacier of feejoch.
A perfect day: Ascent over Hohlaub-(grat)-ridge, descent over normal route to Mittelallalin (take care to crazy skier at).
On skis from Mittelallalin. Descent to Brittannia hut.
short and easy
it´s the eight´s time I go to Allalin now
Pleasant short tour with night in own bed in Tasch ;-)
My first 4000m-peak :)
