Overview
Allmenalp is a nice via ferrata in the grade K4 (scale from 1=easy to 5=very difficult) that rises 350 meters (climbing altitude) to the east of Kandersteg in Bernese Alps.
There are some spectacular installations as a turning ladder, a nepal bridge or a tyrolienne.
The face is divided by a river and two major waterfalls. The route crosses the river at two times.
The route offers great views to the surrounding, icecapped 3k mountains Doldenhorn, Balmhorn, Fründenhorn and Blüemlisalphorn.
Total time is between 2 and 4 hours depending on personal fitness, traffic in the route or the speed one wants to go for.
A cablecar can be used returning down.
Getting There
Base is the town of Kandersteg, that can be reached by car or railway.
