Re: Fantastic shot!

Thanks Eric.

And to believe that I almost got missed the moment, being distracted by my dinner!

Re: Fantastic shot!

Haha - reminds me of the evening I was at Cabane de Tracuit, where, due to their fussiness about mealtimes, I had to sort of "sneak out" in order to shoot at least a couple of sunset images! :D

Re: Fantastic shot!

Indeed. Some huts are so busy that by dinner time the staff seems to forget that we've come to the mountains to enjoy them.

Cabane de Vignettes wasn't yet open though, and the winter room wasn't crowded at all. But I was busy myself, preparing my own dinner, and only just in time remembered to look outside.

I remember seeing some of your sunset images, of the Zinalrothorn. Those were definitely worth sneaking out for!

Re: Fantastic shot!

Anyhow, i think that sunsets from the high huts are always worthy of attention...even at the cost of losing the dinner!!! They are wonderful...
Ciao and cheers!

It's just one...

...of the beautiful collection you have posted! I like the triangle of sun, lightening the glacier!
Cheers

Re: It's just one...

Grazie Silvia.

Though we had come primarily for ice climbing, we found a pretty good alternative when that wasn't possible anymore. We were lucky in a way though, for while it was too warm for ice climbing, a strong high pressure system delivered the best possible weather for alpine climbing.

You get to see a sight like that...

...and you still don't understand why the Swiss Yodel?
; )

Re: You get to see a sight like that...

Nein! I'm not going to yodel! Though perhaps I should say "Non!", since this is French speaking territory. Then again, the German "Nein!" is so much more powerful.
