Re: Fast climb...After taking our time on Mera, we were quite well acclimatised. After a few days in Chukung, we were rested. And we skipped base camp (left for the summit from high camp).

Cool - yes, in both senses of the word. I remember a teammate turning back due to the bitter cold at the end of the rock section. I also remember the awesome sunrise from the summit and the high winds blasting the top parts of Lhotse.
