Good day for it  Sucess!

Walked to the top of the tram, approached the peaks from the east ridge, looped down along the north ridge back down to the top of the Gad Valley lift, ran down the rest of the way. I'd caution against going up the north ridge - it was a massive headache going down, so I can only imagine how annoying it'd be going up.

Hiked via Gad Valley Road  Sucess!

Hiked up from Snowbird parking lot via the Gad Valley Road. Really clear trail until you have to scramble up to the ridge and along it to the peak. Stunning views throughout and surprisingly quite a bit of solitude even on a holiday weekend in Little Cottonwood.

American fork Twins- Red baldy  Sucess!

https://youtu.be/Ft88WivdAzg for a full trip report check out our video at peaks in the bag. Climbed this as a small section of the bullion divide. Ended at red Baldy. Af twin is one of the best peaks in the Wasatch the ridge is short and fun and the top is a pleasant meadow.

A great and stormy day  Sucess!

Did not ride the tram up which was a mistake will never do that again. I can see how riding the tram could be said as cheating but it would make your day so much easier and enjoyable, would recommend the top is just one big meadow.

Exposure  Sucess!

Started from White Pine Lake trailhead, ended up going too far up the valley and had to backtrack along the ridge. It's not a nice ridge to get to red baldy. After that it was pretty easy. Then the ridge to the tram was pretty much just as ridiculous if you stay on the very top of the ridge. A couple borderline class 5 moves. Walked all the way back though, was a long day

American Fork Twin Peaks  Sucess!

Bullion Divide  Sucess!

Fun scrambling up to East Twin! Climbed the East Twin, South Twin, and West Twin. More like Triple than double. Awesome summits! Highest in Salt Lake County! [edit: went back and did pk 11007 after finding out it existed. Nice and easy!]

This peak is in Utah County  Sucess!

THE VIEWS OF TIMPANOGAS ARE STUNNING FROM HERE!!!! STUNNING I TELL YOU! A strom was moving in, I was mesmerized by the mist engulfing the mountain. The ridge up from Hidden Peak was a blast! I really did love this mountain. The black rock on the ridge was stunning, and reminded me of being on volcanic rock around St. George. Well done AF Twins, Well done!

Getting out of the summer heat  Sucess!

I cheated and took the tram up to hidden peak. Knife ridge was fun. Past the ridge was a lot easier up than I thought it would be. Mostly a walk-up once you are past the black rocks. Did red-top and some clouds started to form so I went back down the way I came up and took the tram. Ran into quite a few other people up on the ridge. Convinced two guys to come back to the tram instead of going back down they way they came up (gad valley to the ridge that goes up to between red-top and west twin). Fun hike back down with them. They were glad they came with me. I was glad to have some company. Another group of 3 kids were going to do the bullion divide but the clouds deterred them. Perfectly clear weather in the valley; Gnarly clouds in early afternoon up on the mountains. Typical monsoon season weather.

Re: Getting out of the summer heat

Hey Harbor, I'm hearing about construction at the Bird. It sounds like the trail hasn't been closed if you were just on it. Do you know about any construction going on up there?

Re: Getting out of the summer heat

The trail up Peruvian Gulch is closed to the top, as is the trail up Gad Valley because of construction. You can ride the tram to the top. They are doing construction up on top of Hidden Peak. I am unsure how long the closure will last at Snowbird. If I hear anything I can pass it on.

American Fork Twins  Sucess!

I did this as part of the Bullion Divide (Hidden Peak to White Baldy). The route up included a knife edge ridge and then some scrambling. On top the route between the East and West twin was pretty mild.

Bullion Divide  Sucess!

Did as part of the Bullion Divide (took Snowbird Tram up to Hidden peak, then scrambled over AF Twin Peaks, Red Top, Red Baldy, & White Baldy, then descended down White Pine). The scrambling along the northeast ridge of American Fork Twin Peaks was short but fun. See "Good As Gold" trip report for details.

Awesome Peaks!  Sucess!

We did a nice loop. Followed the service roads to the top of Gad 2 lift. Then reached the ridge to the West and followed it up to Red Top, then over to West twin and East Twin. Then we followed the ridge East down to Hidden Peak and followed the Ridge Trail/Peruvian Trail back to Snowbird. The views on top American Twin Peaks and Red Top are spectacular! We really enjoyed this one!

A Lazy Day-Hike  Sucess!

Up the Gad Valley Trail for 3 hours with an excursion on the steep snow slopes to gain the service road right below the tram. Had to scramble up the sketchy slope to the ridge and go from there. TH-to-summit was about 3.5 hours. The west twin to Hidden Peak took about 30 minutes.
