An interesting shot of Lone...

An interesting shot of Lone Peak from straight below the Traverse Mountains. The elevation change from the bottom of the pic to the top is about 7,000 feet. 1998. Fuji Velvia.

Utah Wasatch fan

Great mountains, the Wasatch front. I really enjoy that backdrop any time i"m in the Salt Lake - Provo area.

I'm enjoying all your nice pics.

Utah?!

Wow, I was guessing Himilayas when I first saw the photo. Sweet!

Re: wow

It was a very clear early spring day in late afternoon after a big storm. I did adjust the saturation a little after my scan but generally, my persistence paid off.

Re: There is

The relatively large telephoto I used distorts the view by compressing distances. The crazy thing is I was literally standing on the side of a busy street... not really **in** the mountains.

Fifty seven years ago.

Here's a big mountain that I climbed in 1954. It looks much more imposing in winter. I ultimately plan to be buried in the town of Alpine just to the south of it.
I must say that you have really covered the mountains of Utah. I enjoy looking at your pictures.

Thanks Nyle. I hope it is a long time until Alpine sees you!

Incredible contrast!

Amazing abrupt transition from the perfect green carpet to the ice plastered mountain!
