Ancient Bristlecone Pine

Bristlecone Pine
This one has become an old friend, or should I say I've become a very young friend to it. To be around them, alone, under a milkyway canopy ... you can hear their silence. There's much wisdom in those ancient forces of nature.

"The capacity of these trees to live so fantastically long may, when we come to understand it fully, perhaps serve as a guidepost on the road to the understanding of longevity in general."
-Edmund Schulman

Re: Great photo!

Thanks. Much appreciated. Bristlecones I believe are the oldest living systems on the planet. I love being around them. I've explored that area extensively over the years. There are some very remote places up there, east of White Mountain. Sheep and Golden eagles abound.
Happy trails ...

High beings

The great trees; Redwoods, Sequoias, old oaks etc., and the ancient bristlecones are considered by the wize to be the most enlightened beings on the planet. Who said you have to have a human body to realize anything? Fine shot!
