First person up the hill after snowstorm. The good news was there wasn't a soul to be seen, the bad news was the route had 4 inches of ice and snow. Got got by the whole vertigo thing and the prospect of a 1000 foot descent and took the turn back option. Fortunately no one was there to see it--took a hike of shame on the West Rim Trail instead.
Epic hike with beautiful views!
Visited Zion with my wife over Thanksgiving weekend, though she didn't do this hike with me. This is a fun hike with great views of Zion Canyon. I got a pre-dawn start and had the summit to myself briefly which was nice but I missed out on some kller photos of the canyon which is shaded in the early morning. Great weather while we were there; clear skies and 65(F) during the day!
Fun little hike. Great views.
A sketchy venture on a rainy day with Sephira, Anthony, Bianka, Mason, Theresa, and Jessica. Met Kim and Holly on the way up while waiting for the group to make their way up. Luckily, no slips or spills on the wet rock. Great view as the sky opened up and revealed a rainbow in the valley below. Beautiful.
Beautiful hike but too many timid people.
Definitely in my top three hikes of all time!
Joined the hoards and masses on the beautiful little climb. Avoid the outhouse if possible!
Just guessing at the date -- did this many years ago. Freaked out a bit by the exposure but my wife talked me thru it.
Met the most inspirational man on this hike. He came back to hike this after doing it 50 years ago. First time when he was 25 years old, this time, 75! Awesome!
Have hiked up to Angel's Landing every few years for the last couple of decades. It is a breathtakingly beautiful route. But the crowds are really getting to be too much on the upper section. It need not be dangerous, yet there are a lot of people up there with no idea of the respect needed for the exposure. In such close quarters, you can easily be impacted by someone else's carelessness. Young kids also really should not be taken up there, but some parents do so.
Just me and 500 of my closest friends
Obviously not something for people with aversion to heights but not very difficult and totally worth it!
Wow this was a fantastic hike. I would not recommend it to those with vertigo, fear of heights, children under 12, or those with terrible manners. I was really appalled with a few people who didn't seem to care about the safety of others as they pushed their way back down.
From the Grotto up to summit, 49 minutes running.
Hiked with the A.C.E. conservation group after the day's work.
There was a fatal fall from from the top just 2 days before we got to Zion. There were still a lot of people up there (plenty with a bottle of soda and no clue what they were doing) and the final section with the chains was super sketchy! I was just happy to be alive after that...
Many years ago with the family. The exposure really gets to some people.
Difficult to look down at the canyon floor initially, but surprisingly much easier on the way back. Great hike for a first visit to ZNP!
We zipped down from Idaho and did this to stretch our legs after a long drive- always fun with great views
