Cartwheels in my belly  Sucess!

I was 6 months pregnant with our boy when I climbed Angel's Landing. I think my son 'enjoyed' the view as I felt him doing cartwheels in my belly when we reached the summit. A reall cool day hike - very rewarding views!

Intro to Zion Peaks  Sucess!

11/28/08 - It had rained ALL DAY the day before and because of the damp rock, thick fog, uncertain weather, and our total lack of experience on sandstone we chose to climb this popular peak before attempting anything more difficult. Started before dawn and had the whole trail/summit to ourselves until the way down. Unfortunately the top was in the clouds and views were almost non-existant.

4/20/18 - With Patrik after a morning of heavy rain kept us off everything else. Beautiful afternoon.

11/19/18 - With Kevin. Then continued up the West Rim Trail to Horse Pasture Plateau and "Never Done Mountain".

Intro  Sucess!

Took my 7 year old son up on a beautiful Fall day. He absolutely loved the steep and exposed slick rock and received quite a greeting at the top from other hikers. A nice lady at the top had berries and chocolate on a silver platter!

worth it, despite the crowds

i hiked up early in the morning, before the crowds got too out of hand--it is unbelievable how many people cram into this trail! it is, however, completely worth it--the hike is short, sweet, and the views looking out from the peak are phenomenal. if you are planning a trip, be sure to take the earliest shuttle possible if you value solitude.

Tourist Route  Sucess!

IMHO the most spectacular tourist trail in the park system. I was with a lady from Texas who had never been on a mountain before. I coaxed her up each section and she made the summit. Outwardly she wasn't too happy about the "risk" to her life, but I think if the truth be known she really was proud of herself overcoming her fears.

Exciting  Sucess!

Incredible views and exposure make this a blast to hike. I will definitely do this again next time I'm in the park. The last .5 miles with the chains were easier than they look. Not only did I not touch the chains, I only needed to use my hands 4 or 5 times total.

Route Climbed: Normal Route Date Climbed: august 2008  Sucess!

We took an early start to avoid the hot temperatures, but took the second shuttle in order to avoid the crowds. As a result we had a beautiful and lonely hike and we were alone on the summit, where we found quietness and peace. Truly a recommended hike in Zion NP.

As time passed by and more people were arriving on the summit, there was this total asshole who found it necessary to carve his name with a knife into the sandstone on the summit. Although I asked him kindly to stop, he just continued his silly action, making an absolute wrong statement for his chilldren. At that moment I just wanted to throw this guy all the way down to the bottom of Angels Landing...I hope I am not the only one who reacts against such people...

With worm spells Zion can offer an amazing trip in late November when it is relatively uncrowded

Good views  Sucess!

The last half mile provides good views, shame about the first part, but I see why its needed with so many people. Still managed to get the summit alone with friends for a few minutes. Excellent views indeed.

Alone on Angels Landing  Sucess!

I only had one day to spend in Zion and I knew I had to try this hike. The scenery on this hike is amazing. The only thing more amazing is that I basically had the whole trail to myself. A small group left the summit right before I arrived, so I was alone on top of Angels Landing. Hard to believe, from what I hear of the summer crowds.
