Re: Great picture! Thanks a lot! It was a great trip, visited lots of penguin colonies (the little ones are very friendly and follow you around and want to snuggle up to you!)..of course, you have to get past the Drake Passage to get there where we experienced 21 foot waves (it's ok, we were heavily medicated:-)
Cheers

Super moment!I'm glad I bumped into this. I love penquins and hope one day I'm able to go visit them. How far away from them were you here?

Re: Super moment!Hi Chad
We got very close to them. They are really curious and some come right up to you...like snuggle against your leg if you stand still. Yes, I think I know you love penguins..your profile image is just super! But, you should know...and I hate to tell you this about your love...they really really smell awful! It took me a long time to get the smell out of my clothes just from being around them. Well, think it's better to admire some things from a distance :-)

Re: Super moment!Ohhhh yessss! I can imagine the smell. The zoo in Edinburgh has an outstanding exhibit, with King, Macaroni, Gentoo, and Rockhoppers, all out in the open. I got a little of the olfactory experience there.
A few years ago I volunteered weekly at an elephant seal rehab center. One hurled while I was tube feeding it and I had to run off to keep from doing so myself! But that the smell soaked into your clothes... we'll that's up there!
