A comm tower employee was waiting at the gate for a contractor and he had no problem with me hiking the road. The summit rocks are a couple hundred feet from the tower fence.

AT NoBo from Bryan Ridge to Thunder Hill
Thankfully, the day prior, we ran into some of Fresh Ground’s amazing trail magic and had eaten well in preparation for this climb. Humping our carcasses 3,000 up from the valley below made this summit all the more rewarding. Ah, to see “the golf ball” up close! Then, we rolled under “The Guilatine” and into a dry camp at Thunder Ridge shelter. (The spring here is unreliable, especially in the dry autumn stretch.) Lovely views from this mountaintop!
You don't have any good summit photos do you? My camera battery died on the way up. Or some shots of the Guillotine?

Easy side trip off the BRP
My wife and I had a short easy hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway up the access road to the top. Met a worker from the facility at the top and he confirmed public access is fine. Gatting to the top rocks was kind of tricky in the overgrown summer conditions.

Quick hike off the BRP
Getting to the absolute top requires a very short but fun scramble.
