great photo

I initially thought "shame about the sky" but the cloud is so similar in colour to the ice it really adds to the drama, as if you're engulfed in ice!

Thanks much! The lighting was a little weird since the sun had just risen about 30 minutes earlier, but it made for an interesting result.

Wow!

It looks like it might be a bit windy there sometimes the way the snow is plastered to the sides.

Thanks! It can get pretty windy there, but it's usually a lot worse above the Gates. Unfortunately, the Hogsback shifted over in 2007 and the Pearly Gates are now a much more technical climb and often require a second tool and ice screws.
