Route: Avalanche Gulch Variation Left of Heart
First mountaineering trip with a bunch of Boy Scouts and my brother. Left horse camp about 0300 and returned in 12 hrs. Ryan and friend summitted, then myself and brother. Others to follow. All but 3 summitted. Will have to come back when there is more snow.
Tina and I were supposed to camp at 50/50 Sat nite but with impending crud weather on Sunday and our zest for adventure....we dayhiked the Hill! Loved it even though I was sucking butt over 13K'. Had the best time!
Long way up from Bunny Flat. Great climb though!
CMF annual climb...4/6 climbers stood on top.
Local wildfires made the view kind of crappy, but still worth every step.
Until next year...

Intro to alpine climbing
My first mountain! Learned some good lessons and had a blast, especially on the glissade!
Round trip in a big day from Bunny Flat. A very good intro mountaineering route. My friend puked at the Red Banks! Awesome glissade down nearly the whole route.
Don't take Shasta too lightly. At first light on a busy Sunday morning, I saw the first summitter of the day tumble about 500 feet after taking a false step right below Red Banks. He had to be helicoptered out from Helen Lake.
Standard. Should be no problem for most people.
