A fun scramble up from the lake. Definitely not a popular peak, as I was alone from the lake to summit to lake, even on a holiday weekend. Weather wasn't the best and it started to rain/sleet on me just below the summit, but still the scenery was just stellar.
Awesome peak! I was really impressed! I love those lower elevation summits where there are still taller mountains around you. This was perfect for me, great weather, I loved it. 8 hours car to car w/ 1 hr 20 min on top. Trip report here.
Traversed from horseshoe lake. 15 miles in just under 10 hours.
The route quality was okay, but had great views of the Stuart Range. The trail was in good condition, a little muddy. Snow on the upper slopes making my trekking poles handy. A bit of loose rock on the route making my rating go down to a 2/5 (so so) in terms of quality.
Did gnarly bicep curls with the register and ate swedish fish and enjoyed the cloudy but good views
Climbed on a warm sunny day. Spectacular views. Placed a new summit register (a big steel tube to replace the film canister).
