Backpack parking lot

We're at the base of the Ausangate summit pyramid. We came from the south, but a big crevasse blocked the way. It continued all along the west face of the summit pyramid, where it was even harder to pass, because on the other side of it was a high wall of hard snow and ice. We dropped our packs and looked for a possible way up - which, eventually, we found. I didn't take a compass reading, but I reckon it must have been a NW or even N ridge of the pyramid. 4 June 2011.
