Bald Eagle Peak

Bald Eagle Peak, as seen from the southern slopes of Beckler Peak. Bald Eagle Peak is located within Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Due to a clerical error in the mid-1900s, USGS maps (and maps that were created with them as references) misidentify the locations of Bald Eagle Peak and its neighboring counterpart Silver Eagle Peak, swapping their positions. Contrary to current USGS maps, Bald Eagle Peak (6259' elevation) is in actuality the taller of the two peaks and located east of Silver Eagle Peak.
