Overview

Bald Knoll is a distinct-looking, extinct volcanic cone west of Redmond, Utah. There are no trails to the top and it is hardly visited so it provides a chance for solitude.

Getting There

Drive west on 300 S in Redmond and take a slight left onto Redmond Lake Road. Take a slight right (northwest) after 2.5 miles at a 5-way intersection. Continue on this dirt road for 3 miles until you find a convenient place to park in the gully east of the peak.
Coordinates: 39.00454, -111.95872

Route

Park on the west side of the peak along the dirt road as described above. There are several game trails on the east flank that travel up the peak that are easily navigable.

Round-trip Distance: 1 mile
Elevation Gain: 554 feet

Red Tape

The peak is on BLM land so no permits required.

When to Climb

Year-round.
