Along with Red Mountain. Some smoke and haze, but the views extended from Snow Mtn in the north to Diablo and Tamalpais to the south.
With Red and Brushy, quite a nice park!
After Bennett Mountain in the morning made the 10 minute drive over to the Bald Mtn TH. Low clouds and fog meant we had no summit views. Tagged Red Mtn while we were at it making for a 3 CC Peak day. TR is HERE.
Hiked this one along with Red Mountain. Hit Hood Mtn and Gunsight Rock next. Very clear, beautiful view from the Pacific to the Sierra right into downtown SF.
Mostly paved road to the summit but view to the Sierra was great and Snow Mt had snow as well.
Early morning hike before a day of wine tasting.
Via Pony Gate in downpour! All in the name of training...
Group outing on a blustery day. Nice views of Mts St. Helena, Diablo, the bay.
With daughter Jackie, chasing a few CC-listed peaks. The park that encloses this summit is very nice. Particularly liked the Planet Walk to Brushy Peaks. Trip Report
Had Friday off, drove up for a dayhike of Bald Mountain and also Hood the same day.
Nice sunny day. Hiked with the wife, beautiful views of the bay. Nice view of Mt st Helena the other direction. A bit windy at the top but still nice
Did Brushy Peaks loop once along with Bald Mtn., a nice loop.
It rained the entire time. Nice hike after sipping wine all morning, though.
A really nice hike to take friends from out of town that is not very strenuous but take water as it does get warm - also if you can descend by 4:00PM you can visit the little observatory. Does anyone know the Jack London Quote that was on one of the overview maps at the top of the peak? It was very beautiful.
Hiked planet trail to brushy peaks and along ridge to bald mountain. descended on road to parking lot. 7.9 miles and great views. Incredibly windy on top and freezing but still enjoyable.
Signing for my brother and dad who hiked it a few times.
Hiked it twice. Once very cloudy with bad view. Once clear with good view.
fun little hike in the Bay area
This is a pleasant hike and very popular with other hikers. A nice outing for the family.
