Pretty and very green
Hiked from Big Mountain Pass, beautiful trail with lots of lush greenery, aspens, and pretty wildflowers. Imagine it would be great in fall colors. Air beacon is still there but slowly rusting away. Less than a dozen other hikers/mountain bikers (and none of the others went more than halfway to the summit), also saw a 4-point buck and a few lizards. 3 hours round-trip. Bathroom at the trailhead was open.

Sunset/Night Hike
Headed out with a friend to bag this one before sunset. Got to the summit right when the sun was setting. Still a fair amount of snow up there but it was a beautiful night for a hike. Used some headlamps to descend back down to Big Mountain Pass.

Ran from Big Mountain pass, over Bald Mountain, down to Alexander Creek then over to Lambs Canyon. Just trying to put together the Wasatch 100 course before I attempt it in September.

Pretty Even When Wet
A trail run/hike on a cold, windy, and sometimes rainy day. The mud was manageable but the wind for the last few hundred feet to the summit prevented any chance for a summit nap. Lots a great views along the trail along with a couple deer.

Kessler, Shaylee, Kimberly, my dad, and I planned to hike the ridge over Bald Mountain from Big Mountain Pass to Parleys Summit. When we got to Parleys summit for the car shuttle, we found out that it is now posted as private land (even though it's part of the Great Western Trail.
We all drove to Big Mountain Pass to make the hike from there. It was a good hike out to Bald Mountain and we went over some intermediate peaks along the way. We ate lunch on the summit before returning back to the vehicles and heading for home. It was a beautiful fall day.

I was in the cloud deck, alternated between rain and snow. Couldn't see more than 100 meters in any direction. Met only a pair of bow hunters. I'll return another day for the views.
5 November 2013: a repeat with better clarity & views. passing snow flurries alternating with sunshine. 3 moose easily spotted - they stand out well in snowy leafless aspen forest. No other humans, tracks or otherwise.

Nice spring hike
With Moogie737 from Big Mountain Pass. There were a few lingering snow patches but most of the trail was clear. We also bushwhacked to P7824 near the start and went 3 miles past Bald Mountain to P7779 and then returned back to the pass.

From Big Mtn pass
Nice hike and met no one going but ran into a SLC hiking group of 15 people on the way back and three mountain bikers. Big tree down across the trail that had to be scrambled over (crux of the hike) :-)
