Via Nutras Creek, with Duchess.
7/12/10 - With Baldy Chato & Stewart.
1/5/18 - Solo winter ascent from Stewart Creek TH in very dry conditions. Along with Stweart & Organ Mountain in an 11 hour day.
Hiked twice same day to and from San Luis. Went to Stewart afterwards.
Nice traverse. Beautiful yet simple area
This was the secondary objective on a hike with Stewart Peak. Also climbed to the top of 13,795 ("Column Ridge") and Baldy Chato on the way back.
Not much of a mountain. Enjoyed seeing sheep on the ridge
Last peak of the day we (Stephanie Lynn) summited. Spent 20 minutes on top warming up with the sun.
From West Willow Creek with San Luis and Stewart.
You can see all the La Garita centennials plus pretty much the entire rest of the San Juans from up there. Looks like I was the first person to summit in 8 or 9 months based upon the summit register.
I did the traverse to Stewart Peak on this long solo hike. It was a great autumn day. On the way back over Baldy Alto (from Stewart Peak) I was able to bypass it's summit and save the effort of climbing this peak twice.
starting feeling better after san luis, so i headed for baldy alto with jamie and mike. easy, high ridge walk which we completed in under an hour. enjoyable!
Climbed with Shanahan96 and Jamie Nellis. Loop hike with San Luis and Stewart Peak, descended back down Nutras Creek from Stewart.
Nice views of San Luis from here. Descended straight down to Stewart Creek on a crystal-clear, warm day.
fun tour with Tom Ela
Beautiful day so we traversed over from San Luis then back down to Stewart Creek.
From San Luis Peak, en route to Stewart Peak and Baldy Chato; 7 hours 50 minutes roundtrip.
