Normal route solo
Been there several times (21-08-2017, 01-07-2016, 11-08-2013, 29-07-2008). Nice place to have lunch during climbs in the Monte Rosa, specially when it's very windy or snowing. Also slept there once, but it was very warm, crowded and wet inside. Still a good alternative for the increasingly expensive huts in the area.

Along the route
We climbed Balmenhorn as a small ''side trip'' on our way to Corno Nero, Ludwigshohe and co.
The Christ statue is impressive to say the least. Grand views in all directions. Climbed with Pieter and Roeland.

Visited with rgg en route for the 'traverse of the tops' - and ultimately Italian normal route to Dufourspitze. We picked up a welsh hitchhiker here called Al - who had mislaid his party and joined us for the next two days.

Apart from Piramide Vincent, which we had already climbed yesterday, on this day we bagged every summit along the way from Rifugio Gnifetti to Capanna Margherita. The bivouac hut was't all too clean, which didn't make it very inviting.

Easy one-day climbing on a wonderful sunny day!
We reached by cable-car the "new Indren" and after Piramide Vincent proceed to Balmenhorn.

20 min after the Pir. Vincent we were at the rimaye of Balmenhorn. 5 m with crampons and 10 m of easy rocks - that is all for gaining this "summit". My friends wanted to complete their collection and so I followed them although I had been there already in 2000.

Back on the Colle Vincent we head for Balmenhorn. We do some rock climbing to really reach the summit - which is near the big Christ statue - and then descend to the bivacco to have lunch.
