Nice TR

I enjoyed reading it; especially your mention of the runners. My mom used to hold the record, in her age class, for the Pike's Peak Marathon.

Tip 13

Great report! I have a suggestion for a 13th rule:

13. Enjoy it while you can. Before long, those short legs that could barely keep up ("Daddy, please slow down!") will be long and strong and outpacing you to the top of the mountain as you gasp for breath and beg for a water break! ;-)

Re: Tip 13

I know. I know. I am going to be patient for several years, and then one wonderful day we'll be at the same pace and then the day after that, "see ya dad." Sigh. But for now, I love it.

Nice Report

My grandkids are 7,5,4,3 and 2. I have taken the older ones on some trail hikes and am anxious for the day when they will be up for a 14er. Nice Report-- thanks!

Five Years Later...

Still enjoying hiking with the kids. My daughter took that same stuffed animal up a mountain this morning. :-)
